With influences from The Flatlanders and Buddy Holly to Vampire Weekend and Jason Isbell, the West Texas Exiles are re-invigorating the music scene with a modern interpretation of the Lone Star vernacular. Though they met in Austin, three of the members grew up in Lubbock: Eric Harrison, Trinidad Leal and Colin Gilmore (Jimmie Dale's son). Singer Marco Gutierrez (formerly of Dirty River Boys) grew up in El Paso and singer/keyboard player Daniel Davis hails from Amarillo. The sounds and spirit of West Texas run through their veins and their songs prove it.
