Known for its distinctive elastic look and relaxed, slotted style, West Coast Swing emphasizes connection, improvisation, and musical interpretation between partners.
In this dance, the follower typically moves back and forth along a “slot” while the leader guides with subtle, fluid movements. Unlike many traditional swing dances that are more bouncy or circular,
West Coast Swing has a sleek and grounded feel, allowing for expressive footwork, pauses, and styling from both partners.
