Partners required.The cooler, younger brother to East Coast Swing. Traditionally danced to blues and R&B, West Coast has taken a fun turn in recent times, with dancers using all sorts of contemporary music, including hip-hop. The dance is characterized by an elasticity between dancers, which is the result of extension and compression between partners. West Coast is a slot dance, unlike other swing dances that are rotational in nature.
Classes are one hour: 45 min of instruction and 15 min of practice time.
We welcome dancers of all levels to our beginner/intermediate group dance classes. We start as a group with some basic movements, and then you'll learn new combos appropriate for your level.
And, if you're in the mood for a drink, we're BYOB! Just remember, no liquor, please.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you need to cancel or move your drop-in class, we require 24 hours notice. We don't offer make-ups for missed individual classes.
