Duruflé’s Requiem

A masterpiece of 20th-century choral literature, Duruflé’s Requiem offers a deeply intimate meditation on peace, comfort, and eternal rest. Rooted in the ancient beauty of Gregorian chant, the work surrounds the audience with glowing harmonies and a breathtakingly gentle sound world—uplifting, consoling, and profoundly human.

Haydn's Nelson Mass

In vivid contrast, Haydn’s Missa in Angustiis—often called the Nelson Mass—bursts with drama and jubilant energy. Written during a turbulent time in European history, it stands as one of Haydn’s most powerful and emotionally charged sacred works, filled with vibrant orchestral colour and choral brilliance that thrills from first note to last.

Seating

Seating for this concert is allocated in the Central Nave and un-allocated (issued on a first come, first served basis) in the Side Aisles. We advise guests arrive in good time to find their seats so that the concert can start on time. All guests must be seated at least 10 minutes before the concert start time.

The seating map provided on Eventbrite is intended as a general guide for reference purposes and may not be fully reflective of the actual seating arrangements. Please be aware that the Brown and White seats have a restricted or no view of the stage.

Please note that guests are not permitted to stand in the aisles as these must be kept clear for emergency access.

Ticket Terms and Conditions: Refunds, Transfers and Cancellations

Refundable tickets include an insurance policy according to the following terms and conditions:

Insurance covers tickets purchased for this event via the Wells Cathedral Eventbrite portal.

The Beneficiary is the owner of an insured ticket. Refunds can only be issued via the original payment method.

The insurance cover begins at the time the ticket is purchased and ends at the beginning of the event.

Insurance can only be purchased simultaneously with tickets. Later purchase is not possible.

If insurance is only purchased on some of the ticket holder’s tickets, only these tickets will be covered by the insurance.

Refunds can be issued to the ticket holder if they are unable or no longer wish to attend for any reason.

The refund will include the ticket value with the value of the insurance premium.

To receive a refund, the ticket holder must provide the original order number and the original confirmation email.

When the refund has been issued, tickets will immediately be made available for general re-sale and may not be available for re-purchase by the beneficiary.

Tickets purchased without insurance are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled or rescheduled by the Cathedral or Wells Cathedral Oratorio Society.
