IN-PERSON at Madison Square Park!
About this Event

Join us in person at Maya Lin’s Ghost Forest installation to hear Truth-Murray-Cole, Curatorial Manager at the Madison Square Park Conservancy, explore Lin’s vision as an artist and her agency as an environmental activist to this project, a memory of germination, vegetation, and abundance and a harsh symbol of the devastation of climate change. The towering stand of forty-nine haunting Atlantic white cedar trees stand as a metaphor for the outsized impact of a looming environmental calamity. While this installation serves as an artistic message, we also hope you’ll enjoy Madison Square Park as a whole, the seven-acre green space at the heart of the city. Serving many people and many different needs, Madison Square Park meets the needs of the communities surrounding it by providing an oasis that belongs to everyone. PS: As we delight in more in-person gatherings, we hope you’ll join us afterward for a free concert in collaboration with Carnegie Hall at 6:00 PM and perhaps a reunion drink at a rooftop. (More details to come).
