Third Annual Women’s Wellness Day Retreat Fundraiser
Join us for the Third Annual Women’s Wellness Day Retreat Fundraiser on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, for a transformative day dedicated to unity, peace, and community support. Set YOUR intention for this Day and don't miss this amazing day of SELF CARE while sitting, sharing, and eating in community with the beautiful facilitators and attendees!
Arrival/Sign-in will be from 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM, with the day's activities beginning promptly at 10:00 AM.
This special retreat, hosted by the Elgin County Ukrainian Community (ECUC), offers a beautiful opportunity for Canadians and Ukrainian newcomers to connect, share stories, and build a vision for a peaceful future. Falling on Aura Awareness Day, the event is a celebration of assimilation in Canada, fostering friendship, and showing unwavering support for those affected by the war in Ukraine.
What to Bring
Please come prepared for a full day of wellness and comfort:
- Water Bottle
- Yoga Mat
- Drum (If you don't have a drum, please bring a rattle, shaker, or sticks for the drum circle!)
- Blanket or Shawl for comfort
- Scarf to cover eyes if you feel this is something that will allow you to Go Within
Food & Community Sharing
This year, we invite you to participate in our communal meal: Please bring a Salad or Dessert to Share and make it with love and gratitude to nourish each other on this day we give ourselves to be together! We will also have a sampling of Ukrainian Pierogies.
Additionally, we are creating a special cookbook! Bring a recipe from your region in Ukraine so we can add it to the book we will publish.
Event Highlights & Facilitators
Experience a day of rejuvenation and connection with a dynamic group of local experts and special Ukrainian facilitators joining us from Toronto!
MOVEMENT, MEDITATION, & STRATEGIES:
- Patricia Maki: Guiding morning Qi Gong movement and mindfulness practices for calm and inner balance, along with personalized Guiding Star sessions and optional Mini Reiki with sound vibration.
- Peggy Phillips: Leading a drum circle to explore the Seven Teachings and the heartbeat of the drum.
- Christine Klaus Noble: Sharing dry brushing techniques and the Amplified Mindfulness Practice (AMP) for holistic balance.
- Kelly Horvorka: Guiding a restorative yoga practice.
- Yuliia Chapkailo (from Toronto): Facilitating Kriya Yoga breathwork and movement.
- Olesia Mamona (from Toronto): Presenting The Breath of Freedom.
- Christine Quayle Daer: Offering Ageless Grace, a program done from a chair, perfect for those with mobility restrictions.
- Alannah: Closing the day with singing bowls (along with Christine Klaus Noble) and offering individual spiritual readings by appointment.
ART & CREATION:
- Aleksandra Makovska: Leading a group collaborative art experience.
- Mary Intven Wallace (Art Therapist): Guiding an Art session focused on Thanksgiving and Gratitude.
- Ann Sloboda (Art Therapist): Facilitating art based on the theme of the day.
- Lindsey Gowan: Leading meditative rock painting.
- Anastasiya Frowley: Offering a safe and nonjudgmental space, providing a listening heart and supportive presence for attendees.
Supporting a Vital Cause
All funds raised will directly benefit the Elgin County Ukrainian Community (ECUC), supporting their ongoing efforts to assist newcomers with assimilation in Canada and providing humanitarian aid to families fighting for freedom back in Ukraine. Every ticket purchased helps us come together to sing, pray, and hope for PEACE and an end to the nightmare in Ukraine.
