About this Event

The Wellness and Recovery workshops are for people who experience poor mental health, to assist them in developing an effective plan to aid their well-being and recovery journey.

We work through a Wellness and Recovery Action Plan which helps attendees to identify their triggers and early warning signs and supports individuals to use healthy coping strategies to their manage daily life. These workshops are peer led and as such we encourage participants to share their experiences.

If you have any questions please contact [email protected]

Please note these workshops are for people struggling with their mental wellbeing who are ready to start their recovery journey. They are not suitable for professionals looking to learn about mental health.

This is a taster session where you can learn more about the Wellness and Recovery Workshops and the Action Plan that accompanies them. We'll also discuss myths surrounding mental health and generate ideas as a group for our Wellness Toolbox.

We are running a daytime and evening taster in the same week at Lower Lane Community Centre - both will have the same content so please only book on one session.

The following is an outline of what is covered during each session on the full 6 week course:

Session 1: What do we mean by recovery?

Session 2: Learning from our experiences

Session 3: Putting things in to Perspective and Early Warning Signs

Session 4: Emotions and Triggers

Session 5: Coping Strategies’ and Support Networks

Session 6: Self- advocacy and Hope

Venue information:

The community centre is a Progress Housing building located within the centre of a housing estate. It's located on Auster Crescent. There is a small free to use car park beside the venue. We will have a break during the session tea and coffee will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own refreshments. We are using the ground floor room which is wheelchair accessible and has disabled facilities.
