Calling all civic minded Welleslians. Our initial neighbourhood litter pick will now take place at 11am on Sunday 30th of March 2025. We'll be meeting in the carpark behind Smith Dorrien house to distribute our state of the art pickers, bin hoops, bags and Wellesley branded high vis vests to get Wellesley off to a clean and tidy start for the new year. We also have nice disposable gloves, not your bargain basement nasty ones.Don't ring the bell on the Smith Dorrien as no one will be in there.
The, "Rushmoor Binfluencers," an established crew will be joining us on site to share their knowledge and expertise.
We still don't have a group name, I'm floating the, "Wellesley Wombles," because it kind of rhymes, but given the military history of our site, perhaps we need something a bit more solid. "Cambridge Custodians," maybe. Has a nice ring to it.
If you have a Walkie-talkie, feel free to bring it and set it to channel 7 sub channel 17 so we can have important dialogue and coordinate efforts. If you bring a walkie-talkie make sure you turn off the roger beep (as that is annoying as hell) and turn off VOX.
