The Family Resource Centre St Michael’s Estate in partnership with Common Ground and dancer Philippa Donnellan are delighted to host a dance workshop and showcase their film ‘We Love Dancin’ as part of the Smart D8’s health and wellbeing initiatives.
For two years during the hardest of covid times from 2020 to 2023 the Family Resource Centre’s group met with dancer and facilitator Philippa Donnellan. These weekly sessions were held in the open air, in the local school and in the People’s Pavilion in the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
You will get to dance with the group and Philippa, hear their favourite dance tracks and get to know their favourite spots to dance in Dublin back in the day.
Bring your dancing shoes and enjoy the sense of wellbeing and fun that dancing brings!
'We Love Dancin’ was a collaborative dance project between the Family Resource Centre St Michael’s Estate and Common Ground. The Family Resource Centre run a wide range of developmental programmes for local people across Inchicore. The role of the dancer, Philippa Donnellan, and the film production by Cathy Dunne of Lore Films were funded by the Arts Council.
