well-crafted is committed to showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of local artists from various disciplines. Our mission is to create a space that celebrates thoughtfully made work, fosters meaningful connections between artists and the community, and honors the value of local, original expression.
This installment presents a dialogue between image and visual imagery, creating a call-and-response not only between different disciplines but also between emotion and interpretation. Alice Jackson-Clark captures fleeting moments, while Brea Harris offers verses that interpret or reinterpret these scenes. In some instances, the roles reverse, and the poem becomes the prompt for the image. Mars Streepy showcases mixed media works, each accompanied with short, luminous texts that act as emotional anchors, reminding viewers of presence and resilience. Together, their work invites you to explore how image and language reflect and affirm the human experience.
About Castalia
Castalia is an experimental craft cocktail bar located in Midtown, Detroit. Focusing on the harmony between flavor and fragrance, each drink is paired with a scent from their sister company, Sfumato.
