WELDING 102: ARC and TIG

Welcome to our hands-on workshop where you'll learn the ins and outs of ARC and TIG welding techniques! Join us at Manchester Makerspace to explore the ARC welding process and the TIG welding process. Students will experience and feel the process, the torch and the stinger in hand, to walk the walk and lay the bead

Welding coupons are provided to learn how to weld, to practice holding and using the ARC stinger and TIG Torch. Students will uses different ARC welding rods, 6011, 6013, 7018. Time will be alloted for each student and to work on a project you are encouraged to bring. Projects must be steel material such as steel plate, rebar, angle iron, or pipe to experience these shapes, and welding challenges. As each student takes a turn at welding, there will be an opportunity for observation of the progression which is of vital importance in learning these welding skills.
