This workshop examines scriptural examples of migration and resettlement, and explores the theological call to “welcome the stranger."
About this Event

This workshop will begin with a study of scriptural examples of migration and resettlement, and an exploration of the theological call to “welcome the stranger”.  An immersive simulation experience in small teams will expose the common challenges newcomers face as they navigate resettlement. Finally, a deep dive into the UNHCR’s Welcoming the Stranger: Affirmations for Faith Leaders will flow into brainstorming and committing to putting into action one or more practical ideas in the praxis of becoming increasingly hospitable to “the other”.

Facilitator: Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Alberta.

Offered as part of the 2024 Poverty Studies Summer Institute.
