We officially invite you on Tuesday, June 25th to Welcome Week 2024!
Asher Institute of Hampton is delighted to welcome all High School Graduates of 2024, Incoming Transfer Students, Nontraditional Students, and Everyone who is interested in a career in the beauty industry. "Welcome Week" aka Orientation week is our way to introduce a new class of students to the traditions and community that has made the Asher Institute of Hampton a unique destination for students from around the world. We will help new students with the transition to higher education while providing them with meet and greet opportunities with their peers and our administrative staff.
Welcome Week is an opportunity for new students to learn more about our school during a multi-day series of events with vendors, programs, and meetings. This week is mandatory for all new students because "FINANCIAL AID" will be rolled out into a day and all necessary enrollment documents will be gathered and finalized. It is also mandatory for new students to bring a Government ID and a copy of their High School Diplomas or GEDs. Until students complete Welcome Week, they will not be able to attend classes or access financial aid.

Asher Institute is a descendant of the Virginia School of Hair Design that was founded in 1958. For over 60 years, we have seen generations of stylists walk through our doors and make their dreams come true. Our storied history has given us a wealth of knowledge to pull from as we grow. Now with our new name, new building and new programs, we are able to offer a diverse, vibrant and creative learning environment.
Our building is located at the border of Hampton and Newport News. Our state-of-the-art building is brand new and has the feel of a modern, upscale salon. From our barbering floor with chocolate leather seats and industrial ceilings to our salon floor with sleek finishes, clean lines and vibrant orange accents throughout, our facility was built with the students of today in mind.
Whether you are a student looking for a top-notch education, an instructor looking to pass on knowledge and skills, or a client looking for affordable services performed by our students under the eye of experienced stylists, we are here to make that dream a reality. We will offer "Virtual Orientations" during Welcome Week for any students who can't travel to campus that week. After this week our new students will be provided with an in-depth overview of how our trade school works.
