About this Event
Join Detroit Bird Alliance leaders Jim Mahon and Evan Deutsch at Kensington Metropark for about a 2 mile walk on the nature trails surrounding the Nature Center looking for the many species of birds and beautiful scenery that can be found at the park. Whether you shoot mirrorless, DSLR, action camera, film camera or even your cell phone, we welcome photographers that enjoy taking pictures of the natural world around us.
Kensington has a special opportunity many are not aware of. Visitors can hand feed wild birds (Black-capped Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, White-breasted Nuthatch, Downy Woodpecker, and possibly others.) We will provide the bird seed! This is a great opportunity for up-close observation and photos. Adults seem to enjoy the experience of "a bird in the hand" as much as children do.
Meeting Location: Kensington Metropark Nature Center
Note: Entrance to the park requires an entrance fee or an annual metropark pass.
Binoculars can be loaned to those who do not have their own. Weather may be chilly, especially near the water, so be sure to dress appropriately.
