About this Event
Come one, come all. Join us for our Welcome to Nature Photography field trip series as we explore southeast Michigan at different seasons through the lens of a camera. Whether you shoot mirrorless, DSLR, action camera, film camera or even your cell phone, we welcome photographers that enjoy taking pictures of the natural world around us.
As we approach winter this fall season, a good number of summer birds will migrate from Southeast Michigan and winter birds will journey here. Enjoy not only the birds but the beautiful landscapes and Fall colors that Autumn has to offer. Join our Detroit Bird Alliance nature photography field trip as we photograph them. Zoom lens is ideal but you could take pictures through binoculars for a similar effect.
Join us this fall birding season at Heritage Park as we walk along the trails near the Nature Center in Farmington Hills. There we will explore the 211-acre park along 4.5 miles of trails for hiking and nature study. We have high chances to see a wide array of woodpeckers, swallows, Chimney Swifts, Eastern Bluebirds, Indigo Buntings, Cedar Waxwings, Sparrows, and Warblers with a chance of seeing the resident Barred Owl.
A portion of the trails are paved and accessible to wheelchairs while many others are gravel or woodchip. Bathrooms available on site.
Binoculars can be loaned to those who do not have their own.
Leader: Evan Deutsch (Subject to change)
