Completed in the summer of 2024, Ashton Place offers 51 units of attractive, modern and most importantly, affordable senior housing serving low-income residents. Developed by Self-Help and DHIC, these lovely homes received strong community support: The City of Durham provided local housing funds and donated the vacant land where the development stands. Other financing partners include NCHFA, Chase, RBC, Duke University, the Oak Foundation and the A.J. Fletcher Foundation. This community collaboration provides Durham’s residents with high-quality affordable housing, making accessible the features and amenities that make Durham special, such as its historic downtown, its modern transit center, access to world-class healthcare, and the nearby Senior Center.
We’re thrilled to announce that Ashton Place is open and fully occupied! Providing modern, convenient senior living to Durham residents, Ashton Place is a joint development of Self-Help and DHIC completing the build-out of the City of Durham’s Durham Station development site.
