About this Event
We would like to invite you to a community townhall for a conversation about Welcome Corps and a celebration of Indiana's diversity and commitment to being a welcoming community.
is a United States Department of State program that enables Americans to privately sponsor and welcome refugees. Several Indiana families have already taken the first step forward to welcome refugees, and you can too.
During the townhall, speakers from the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) at the U.S. Department of State and the Community Sponsorship Hub (CSH) will present a program overview, including:
- How Americans can be matched to a refugee or sponsor a refugee they know
- The application process and eligibility criteria
- Resources and tools available to sponsors
- How to help prevent the spread of misinformation about the program
There will be an opportunity for questions following the presentation.
This event is co-hosted by Welcome Corps, Burmese American Community Institute (BACI), and Patchwork Indy,. Welcome Corps on the Road is a part of the Welcome Corps Roadshow - a series of visits across the country to showcase the power of communities in welcoming refugees.
