About this Event
Join members and friends at our Antiques, Arts, and Culture Group in person at the Clubhouse this month. Bring your lunch; dessert and beverages will be provided by our hostesses.
Cassie Kifer, author of and will lead us on a virutal scavenger hunt through weird and wonderful San Jose. Show off your local history knowledge and learn more about the bizarre and fascinating places that define San Jose’s history and shaped this one-of-a-kind city.
Cassie will share photos and riddles that will help you identify hidden gems including historic sites, architectural treasures and oddities, hidden works of art along with little-known museums, parks, and open spaces. Our virtual scavenger hunt may inclide an unexpected medieval fortification, burial grounds under a busy city park, towering South Pacific totem poles, a home with no right angles, and other unique finds.
In addition to penning two books, Cassie Kifer's travel writing has appeared in Fodor’s Travel, Delta Sky, Via/AAA Magazine, Thrillist, and other publications. During the week she works for the County of Santa Clara and on weekends you can find her seeking interesting culinary and cultural experiences and hiking the South Bay’s many parks and open spaces with her husband and rescue dog, Petey. They live in San Jose’s historic Naglee Park neighborhood. She also shares stories and photos about food and travel on her blog, Ever In Transit.
