About this Event
The WeGOJA Foundation, a statewide nonprofit that advocates for the preservation of African American history and culture, will formally unveil the new South Carolina Preservation Toolkit in a special event at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, at the Brookland Banquet and Conference Center. With a keynote address from Malika N. Pryor, Chief Learning and Engagement Officer of the International African American Museum in Charleston, the event will demonstrate the value of preserving our past and how people can use the toolkit to reach their goals. The toolkit is an online source that provides information on grants/funding, databases of experts and successful projects, how-to guides and other tools to help navigate the preservation process. Whether it's acquiring an official state historical marker, a listing on the National Register, or preserving an historic structure or cemetery, projects are easier with the toolkit.
Tickets are $75 / person and can be purchased here on Eventbrite or by contacting the WeGOJA Foundation at [email protected].
Tickets must be purchased in advance by Friday, January 24, 2025.
