COVID
Please do not come to the event if you are feeling in any small way sick, fatigued, or feverish. Keeping the safety of the whole community in mind is vital!
Please be fully vaccinated or very recently tested negative. We will be disinfecting microphones after each performer. We also have mic condoms you are welcome to use. If you have your own live stage mic feel free to bring it.
The venue is no longer requiring masks to be worn at all times. We encourage you to wear a mask if it makes you feel more comfortable and safe. You will not be turned away if you don't wear a mask.
________
THE RUN DOWN:
SCHEDULE: The Open Mic will be split into two halves sandwiching the featured artist's yumminess in the middle.
Open mic 1st half: 8:30pm to 10:00pm
Featured Artist: 10:00pm to 10:25pm
Open mic 2nd half: 10:30pm to 12:00am
OPEN MIC: the open mic will begin AT 8:20pm or as soon as I can start the show! The night is a random, pull out of the jar process so that who is up next will be a surprise! Be prepared to play at any moment. And don't worry. I'll still be sure to share who is in the hole, who is on deck, and who is up next to take the stage.

FEATURED ARTIST: Each week there is a new featured artist who will share four songs for our listening pleasure and attention.
________
SIGN UPS: sign ups BEGIN AT 7:30pm and END at 8:15pm sharp. Visit the bar inside Mr. T's room, order a drink or food to support the venue, grab a number from the bartender after doing so, then head towards the stage to find the signup clipboard, we'll snag your number from you, and we'll get you all signed up! THROUGHOUT THE EVENING PLEASE ONLY ORDER DRINKS AND FOOD FROM THE BAR INSIDE MR. T'S/THE STAGE ROOM.
There will be a MAXIMUM of 30 people that will be able to sign up each week (we may be and are often able to fit a few more people on if the night flows quickly and smoothly). DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE THAT SIGN UP each person will get to play 1 song/5 mins MAX or possibly 2 songs/8 mins (very rare). Please know the length of your songs BEFORE arriving to be sure that your time on stage (including your song, plugging in and packing up, and talking) stays within the maximum time limit. Thank you in advance for understanding and being MINDFUL of all of the other performers!
________
GEAR
Please bring your own guitar/ukulele/banjo/etc
If you have your own live vocal mic or foam mic windscreen you are welcome to bring it to use. You can get a decent live mic for as cheap as $20! It’s a great investment for you to make on yourself and will give you an extra little level of sanitary safeness in the age post pandemic.
There will be a backlined keyboard provided by the main hostess. If for some reason she cannot bring it (which does happen) it will be announced ahead of time on all @wonderandaweprod socials and in the weekly musicians open mic FB group.
WE WILL PROVIDE:
• 2 D.I. boxes, two 1/4" cables, 3 mics with stands and cables, a stool, keyboard and stand (unless otherwise announced day of).
• Please keep in mind this is an ACOUSTIC driven night focused on songwriting. Minimal hand percussion is cool but NO DRUM KIT AND NO LARGE AMPS allowed. It’s a super fast paced show so the less set up on and off stage the better. It’s more about the songwriting speaking for itself
• You may perform to a backing track if that is your thing so long as the song is saved (not streaming from the internet!) to a device that has an 1/8" plug in. If your device has a USB-c or flash please make sure to bring any adaptors or dongles needed.
• Small amps and pedal boards or looping stations are allowed as long as you are able to SET UP AND PLUG IN QUICKLY and stay within your maximum time limit (set up, tear down, song, and talking all must be under 5 minutes). Thank you in advanced for understanding!

OUR HISTORY
The Tuesdays Weekly Musicians Open Mic began in January 2016 by Brenda Carsey at The Lost Knight in Echo Park with the intentions of bringing community together, connecting people, creating a comfortable and creative environment for people to share in, and having a night of hanging and fun! The event ran successfully from January 2016 to March 2018 when the venue shut down. The event was reborn with a new home at Mr. T’s in Highland Park Bowl in November 2018 and went strong till March 2020 when the entire world shut down. It started back up again August 2021.
