Discovered in 2001, the Brymbo Fossil Forest contains fossilized remains of prehistoric plants like club-mosses, horsetails, and tree ferns. It is now protected and managed by the Stori Brymbo team.
The Brymbo Fossil Forest site preserves a Carboniferous forest, offering a rare glimpse into one of the planet’s earliest rainforests. This environment was home to massive arthropods, extinct plant species, and ancient amphibians—ancestors to modern terrestrial life.
