Event Descriptions:
Mindful Art & Movement - descriptions coming momentarily. Led by Caroline
Chair Yoga for Seniors - This chair-based yoga is a great introduction for persons that might not be comfortable rising up from a mat. It's designed to be gentle and effective. Students will move through a variety of poses while using straps, blocks, and other props. Promotes flexibility, balance, and breathing. Led by Chuck Georgius
Support Your Practice with Props - Yoga is about meeting your body where it is with love and support. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore all the ways you can support your own practicing using props like bolsters, blocks, straps, blankets, and chairs. You’ll learn to safely modify poses as needed, deepen your practice, and access postures you might have otherwise strayed away from. Together we will collectively create a flow to leave you feeling empowered, supported, and inspired. Led by Jessica Mercandante
Yoga Nidra w/Binaural Beats - Beginning with a creating a simple prompt art strategy and shifting into a 45-minute Yoga Nidra* practice with binaural beats**. Students will end with returning to their art for deeper contemplation.
*Yoga Nidra is "yogic sleep", in which participants are lying down comfortably and guided into a state of deep relaxation in the body while the mind remains alert.
**Binaural beats is an auditory phenomenon created when two tones with slightly different frequencies are played at the same time. Led by Dan Levin
Inclusivity and Accessibility for Teachers - Offering discussion and experiential practice on the abilities of students and how to utilize the space for optimal fulfillment and use. Led by Caroline Orlowski
Blind Yoga - As humans, we rely heavily on our sense of sight and yet, sometimes our eyes limit us with distractions and too much information. In this class, we will experience two different ways of limiting our sight to gain deeper inner sight. Part posture practice (asana) and part art exploration. Led by Adrien Gehring
Dance Yoga - A yoga dance class blending the mindful flow of yoga with the expressive movement of dance. Rhythmic creative sequences set to music help participants build strength, flexibility, and coordination while fostering joy, freedom, and self-expression! Led by Kathy Quinlan
What is Savasana? - Savasana, “corpse pose,” is often overlooked as one of the most important yoga postures. This workshop is designed to help participants experience the profound benefits of Savasana as a healing practice for body, mind, and spirit. Led by Annabelle Thunderbird
solFEST is brought to you by our 2025 class of 300 hour Sol Yoga Teacher Training Program Graduates as part of their capstone project in community building and yoga.
Sol has trained over 400 teachers since 2006 and offered over $350,000 in scholarships to enable anyone to study the transformative path of yoga. We offer yearly or biannual training programs for entry level students and more seasoned practitioners.
