About this Event
Join us at Compass Point home of Dirty Girl Adventures for an evening designed to allow for socializing, learning and fun! Andy Connolly, Geologist, from the Kansas Geological Survey at KU will join us to talk about fossils in Kansas. Andy is the lead public educator at the Kansas Geological Survey. He acquired two degrees in Geology studying fossils at the University of Kansas and has worked at national parks and museums as an educator. Andy's favorite fossil is the mosasaur and he plays the accordion for fun. He will share information and history about fossils in Kansas and he's willing to take a look at your favorite finds! Bring your mystery fossils along to learn more about them. How do you know if a fossil is really a fossil? How do you identify a fossil? We will also talk about fossils found on the Kansas River.
This is a DONATION BASED event. We will be asking for donations (cash or by using the LINK that we will provide) to support the Kansas Geological Survey's Educational Outreach Program which helps fund travel and supplies for teaching about Kansas fossils across the state.
PLEASE PRE-REGISTER so that we can ensure a comfortable environment for all.
