The Boise River Greenbelt is a 25 mile pathway providing scenic views and wildlife habitat along the beautiful Boise River. We will meet at a residential area near the West Greenbelt Bridge in Garden City, and from there we'll walk west past Riverside Pond on the Greenbelt path. The route will be flat and paved, and is around 2 miles on an out-and back walk. We'll be on the lookout for mergansers, goldeneyes, wood ducks and other waterfowl on the river and local ponds, and songbirds like chickadees, kinglets, nuthatches, and finches in the trees and any feeders. There's always the possibility of finding a Great Horned Owl if we're lucky!
All levels are welcome. Binoculars will be available if needed.
Participants younger than 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants younger than 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the liability release.
Time: 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
We will meet at the corner of W Sultana Drive and N Duxbury Pier Avenue, at a Garden City entrance to the Boise River Greenbelt. Please note, street parking is limited so please be sure to respect the neighborhood and mailbox delivery.
