"Weaving Worlds" offers a day of immersive workshops that celebrate the rich tapestry of global music and rhythm. This is a rare and unique creative learning experience for the whole family, perfect for music enthusiasts and creatives alike and suitable for all ages, abilities, musical backgrounds and levels of musical experience.
The workshops are a collaboration between Brisbane-based artists Menaka Thomas (Indian-Fusion singer), Kelsey Giarola, (vocal coach and songwriter), and Tsoof Baras, (percussionist and composer) with Bundaberg-based talents Christie Jacobsen (Director, Bundaberg Voice Collective) and Cynthia Hoogstraten (Former President of Unity Drummers Inc).
The workshops will explore and weave together the musical worlds of the artists - from the song traditions of India and Africa to the modern and contemporary genres of expression.
You can attend one or both workshops, whatever meets your musical and artistic appetite!
These workshops have been supported by the Bundaberg and District Neighbourhood Centre and the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF). RADF is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Bundaberg Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
Cost: $15 for one workshop; $20 for both workshops (Note: Children under the age of 10 years can attend free of charge)
