A free creative workshop in which participants will create their unique tapestry.
About this Event

The workshop is an introduction to weaving on a frame and its creative and therapeutic qualities. Darren will facilitate ways to convey feelings through words and weaving. Participants will design using the first letter in that word and have a go at weaving their design.

There is no need for any previous experience.

No previous knowledge is needed, and all materials will be provided. The participants will take their creations at the end of the workshop.

Darren is a textile artist and facilitator who uses multicultural aesthetics to address social and political themes. He studies Contemporary Tapestry weaving at West Dean College. In his work, he uses traditional materials such as wool, cotton, and wire as well as non-traditional objects, such as packaging, bones, stone, plastic, and even whole items of clothing.
