Weave-a-Thon is back for a third year, and this year the metalsmiths are getting in on the fun with Torch-a-Thon! During these 12-hour events, which is part fundraiser, part production studio, and part party, Pittsburgh-area weavers will design and weave dish towels, and the metalsmiths will design and create ornaments. The towels and ornaments will then be available for purchase on Friday, November 21 during the CRAFTED holiday shopping event.
The completed towels and ornaments will be sold for $40 each, and 50% of the proceeds will go back to the weavers and metalsmiths.
The public is welcome to stop by to cheer on the weavers and metalsmiths from 12 – 9 PM. In addition to purchasing a towel or ornament or stopping by during the event, there are several other ways people can get involved, including sponsoring a weaver or metalsmith, sponsoring the event, and donating food and drink to keep the participants fed and hydrated.
