Weapon Retention

An attempt to disarm an officer of their tools especially their firearm is a greivous attempt on an officer's life.

The Weapon Retention course focuses on defending against a weapon disarm and offers lethal force options that align with the National Use of Force Framework.

This is not a martial arts course. The techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTP's) are sound and can be integrated into current law enforcement tactics.

Course note: This training is open to LE / Mil only. The training venue address will be sent upon completion of registration.

The seminar will focus on:

• Weapon Retention concepts and tactics
• EDC knife knowledge
• Response option transitions

All course participants will require the following for this INDOOR event:

• Operational uniform or training t-shirt, cargo pants, clean duty boots
• Duty belt, holster, training pistol (SIRT, Blue Gun or Gas)
• Soft body armour
• All participants are responsible for their own meals, snacks and hydration
• A microwave, fridge and free parking is available on site

Brief Background

The primary instructor for this course is Chris Mandigma - a recognized authority in law enforcement training specializing in close quarter combatives. He has 15 years of experience in operational law enforcement, security and as an instructor. Chris is Canada's sole TRICOM Master Instructor and instructs for multiple law enforcement agencies and has also instructed at NTOA, ISOA, and OTAB.
