Did you know there are people in your town who write classical music? Join local composers, Cordancia's string quintet, and host Eno Okung for a free concert of all Black and Latina composers at the Kate Gleason Auditorium of the Central Library in downtown Rochester.Attendees receive a full-color illustrated booklet by local children's book artist Rosemary Shojaie, telling the stories of music written by local composers Alyssa Rodriguez and Kevin Leysath II. Projected illustrations and pictures help share the stories of great composers of the past and present, including Rhiannon Giddens, Angélica Negrón, William Grant Still, Joseph Bologne, and Florence Price.
