About this Event
Looking for something fun to do with the kids (or kids at heart in your life) this winter? We Really Like Her! is on the case with a Saturday matinee screening of Bronwen Hughes' Harriet the Spy (1996)!
The first film produced by Nickelodeon Movies, the Toronto-shot Harriet the Spy is a bold, brightly-coloured adaptation of Louise Fitzhugh's beloved book about an aspiring writer (Michelle Trachtenberg as the titular Harriet) who "spies" on her friends, foes and unsuspecting neighbours in her spare time. A children's film that actually treats children like people, Harriet the Spy offers a timeless peek into what it's like to be a very *PRIVATE* tween girl. Also, did we mention that it co-stars Rosie O'Donnell (as Harriet's nanny Golly) and features an incredible cameo from Eartha Kitt?
So join We Really Like Her! co-hosts Emily and Danita on as they take a closer look at one of the best coming-of-age films of the '90s. Yellow raincoats and magnifying glasses optional. - EMILY GAGNE & DANITA STEINBERG
