
About this Event
We’re heading upstate for our first-ever family hike and this one’s made just for the little adventurers! Join us for a day of nature, exploration, and FUN along the Hudson River.
Led by NYS licensed outdoor guide (Ava of TRISTATEHIKERS), this easy, kid-friendly trail is perfect for children ages 4–12 ( an active 3-year-old can definitely handle it too!).

Location: Cold Spring, NY
Trail: Little Stony Point (Hudson Highlands State Park)
Distance: ~1 mile loop
Time: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Meet-Up Options:
Driving: Meet directly at Washburn Trailhead / Bull Hill (Mt. Taurus) parking lot in Cold Spring, NY.
Taking the Train: Meet at the Main Clock, Grand Central Terminal at 7:45 AM. Train departs at 8:08 AM sharp via the Hudson Line → Cold Spring Station. Purchase your round-trip ticket to Cold Spring using the MTA TrainTime App or at the station before departure
Trail Highlights
- Beach picnic area along the Hudson River — perfect for snack breaks or playtime.
- Abandoned mine to explore safely from the outside (a FUN and educational history stop!).
- Scenic overlook with wide-open Hudson River and mountain views.

- Easy, family-friendly loop with a gentle climb to the overlook.
- Plenty of rest spots and open areas for kids to enjoy nature.
- Dogs welcome (must remain on leash).

- Sturdy shoes (trail includes sand, rocks, and small climb sections)
