About this Event

We need to talk about autism - A community event by CIDD (University of Portsmouth)

Would you like to share your views on priorities for autism research? Would you like to know more about the research we do at the University of Portsmouth? Then come along to our community event - we'd love to hear from you!

The aim of this event is to give the autism community in Portsmouth the chance to shape future research by giving everyone the opportunity to contribute to round table discussions, hear from autism researchers at the University of Portsmouth, and pose questions to an expert panel comprising autistic people, their families, and professionals.

Examples of topics for discussion may include:

  • Supporting autistic people in education and employment
  • Barriers to full inclusion of autistic children and adults in society
  • How to reduce the gap between autism research, practice, and policy

And more! If you have any topics you'd like to discuss, please let us know!

This is a catered event and kids are welcome. There will also be a dedicated quiet area.

Date: 13 June 2024

Time: 4-7pm

Location: The Third Space, University of Portsmouth Student Union (1st floor), PO1 2EF

We hope to see you there!
