Whitney Slightham is a seasoned communications professional with 15 years of experience in strategic communications, digital marketing, brand development, and public relations. Her award-winning campaigns have garnered international recognition, including 12 national and international awards, and her expertise has driven revenue and elevated technical stories in prime media markets, with coverage in outlets such as the BBC, CBC, Washington Post, and NPR. As the founder of Mesa Marketing, Whitney leads a full-service marketing and communications agency. Prior to founding Mesa Marketing in 2022, she served as Communications Director for a multi-billion-dollar research institute at Virginia Tech, where she directed international marketing campaigns that reached over 600 million people in 2021. Whitney also has firsthand crisis management experience as a public official and local government communications leader, where she led internal and external communications during city-wide emergencies. This unique blend of public and private sector experience makes her well-suited to guide leaders through crisis management best practices.
