About this Event
Join us to celebrate the publication of We Hold Our Broken Hearts In Common, a new collection of poems by Fiona Brittle published by Of Source! Press.
Exploring heartbreak as a shared human experience, Brittle's poems place personal grief within a collective history that stretches back to the earliest written words. Drawing connections between the enduring technologies of language and brick-making and contemporary experiences of love and loss, the publication invites reflection on the ways we build, break, and rebuild together.
The evening will feature readings by Fiona Brittle from the collection, with a talk by Of Source! Press publisher Morvern Odling reflecting on the book's foreward and the role of the publisher in the commons.
Tier One tickets include a copy of the first edition of We Hold Our Broken Hearts In Common, and a limited edition Risograph print. Tier Two tickets include the limited edition Risograph print, and the cost can be redeemed against a copy of the book on the night.
We look forward to celebrating the launch of this new publication live!
About the venue:
Strange Exchange is a library, community learning space, and forum in Glasgow’s East End, dedicated to curiosity, creativity, and experimentation. We offer a rich collection of books, publications, and resources that explore arts education, play, collaboration, imagination, and creative learning, providing inspiration and reference for artists, educators, and curious minds alike.
At Strange Exchange, we believe that creativity and learning are best experienced as shared practices. Our space is shaped through dialogue with the communities we serve - artists, educators, facilitators, and thinkers from across Scotland, the UK, and internationally. By making these resources visible, we celebrate the ideas, experiments, and practices that often remain unseen beyond their immediate context.
