Event Information:
We'll be meeting at the Beaver Brook Association Wildlife Pond Trailhead parking lot. We will take a flat, lesiurely stroll around Wildlife Pond and enjoy the winter fresh air, meditation, and journaling.
To keep our bodies warm on the walk: we will break down our "group conversatoin and mindfulness" into two parts! This will ensure we aren't sitting still for too long each time :)

Time: meet at parking lot at 11:00am. Please be punctual! I'll have a pink clipboard nad blue hiking backpack - you won't miss me.
Location/Directions: NH 130W/Proctor Hill Rd, Hollis NH 03049 (about 15 minutes from the Massachusetts border; about 1 hour from Boston MA, 15 minutes from Nashua, NH, and 30 minutes from Manchester, NH.
GPS parking lot link: click here. There is a sand/gravel parking lot that can fit about 10 cars, but there are also nearby parking entrances if needed!
***The AllTrails app says 2.0 miles and will take us just over 1 hour of slow walking to complete the loop :) ***
Parking: free. We encourage carpooling or public transportation as appropriate.
Difficulty level/Distance: easy + flat the whole way. No hiking experience needed. Since it is winter and could be snowy/slippery, hiking boots or shoes with traction, not sneakers, are a must!
Restroom Facilities: No bathrooms. There is a nearby Dunking Donuts or Buckley's Cafe at the main intersection/set of lights about 2 miles away from the trailhead. I'd suggest stopping there if you want to use the restroom (or grab a warm drink!) before meeting.
What you will need for this hike:
- Water to drink! (we recommend at least 1-3 liters)
- Warm coffee/tea to drink if you want a warm treat on the walk
- Sunblock and/or hat to protect you from the sun (recommended even in winter!)
- Comfortable hiking shoes/boots; I recommend hiking boots with strong tread and, if icy or snowy, microspikes (available at most outdoor stores or online). Again, sneakers are not very reliable for grip in the winter, so please bring boots with good grip! While this is not a long hike, it's always good to be safe in winter conditions
- Comfortable AND warm layers: you will get a good sweat while walking so you may want to add/remove some layers throughout the walk, but when we sit and journal you'll likely be colder. Think: layers layers layers!
- thick winter socks
- Hats, gloves, handwarmers, and anything else that you like to wear in winter
- A towel or waterproof mat to sit on if you're uncomfortable sitting on the ground; we will be sitting for 15-30 minutes at a time for our group connection time
- A daypack/backpack to carry all your items
- Your journal and a writing tool
Please review the liability waiver and be prepared to acknowledge and accept at sign in for your event.
