Free Event | Registration opens January 4
Join us for the third annual We Heart You: Recovery in Our Community event, a day dedicated to hope, connection, learning, and action. This gathering brings together professionals, families, people in recovery, and community partners from across the region to strengthen our collective response to substance use and mental health challenges.
This year’s event features a powerful lineup of regional and local presenters, storytellers, and breakout sessions. CEUs will be available.
Emcee: Tom Farley
Community Outreach Director at Recovery.com. Tom grew up in Madison and graduated from Georgetown University before launching a career that led him to run The Chris Farley Foundation, a nationally recognized nonprofit focused on substance abuse prevention. He co-authored The Chris Farley Show, a New York Times bestseller, and has appeared on The Today Show, Good Morning America, and Larry King Live. Now in recovery himself, Tom is a dedicated advocate who uses storytelling and humor to break stigma, inspire hope, and connect people with the resources they need.
Keynote Speaker: Mark Sanders
Co-Founder of Serenity Academy Chicago, author, university educator, and internationally recognized behavioral health consultant. Mark’s presentations have reached thousands throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, West Indies, and Guam. He is the recipient of four lifetime achievement awards including the NAADAC Enlightenment Award, and he was a finalist for NAADAC’s 50th Anniversary Legends Award. Mark has also received the Illinois Certification Board’s Professional of the Year Award, the Jessica Hayes Lifetime Achievement Award, and Loyola University Chicago’s Barbara Bacon Award for outstanding contributions to the social work profession. His message is rooted in resilience, compassion, and the power of community.
More information to come about breakout sessions, local resources, and other highlights of our event.
