Join Made In Hackney founder Sarah Bentley for a night of food, conversation and celebration. The event is to mark the release of the award-winning plant-based cookery school and charities
debut book WE COOK PLANTS – a food justice call to arms disguised as a glamourous plant-
based cookery book!
It features over 100 global plant-rich recipes with contributions from Sami Tamimi, Andi Oliver,
Anna Jones, Dr Rupy; tips on foraging, fermentation, food waste reduction and micro allotment
growing; and think pieces from Aja Barber, Nova Reid, Earthling Ed and Yazzie Min.
So much more than a cookbook it features conversations about juicy topics such as how to decolonize the
food system, regen versus organic farming, why millions of people are going hungry in the 6 th
wealthiest nation in the world – and much more.
On the night Sarah will be joined by Totnes local and earth chef Hannah Walker who will be doing
root to tip and wild food themed demonstrations; Food In Community founders David Markson and
Laurel Ellis and Love Food CIC founder Maresa Bossano for a panel discussion; and if we’re
lucky, Hannah will bless us with delicious food tastings.
