Come to Ames Public Library for a book release and panel discussion featuring "We Can Do Better: Collected Writings on Land, Conservation, and Public Policy."This book collects writing by Paul Johnson, who was a farmer, conservationist, and Iowa state legislator. Johnson also served as chief of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. In Ames, he is especially remembered as the co-creator of the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University.
Curt Meine, conservation biologist and editor of "We Can Do Better" will discuss and read from the book. Books will be available for purchase and signing courtesy of Dog-Eared Books.
