We at Ideal Surreal and our pals from Off With Their Records are delighted to invite you to two evenings of musical entertainment at the fine city's premier tequila bar Gringos on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd October.
Its the launch show party for our brand new series 'Expert Amateur,' which sounds a lot like porn but is actually a brand new live video/interview/session from the minds of Minty (Space is Big), Ryan (Off With Their Records) and Sean (Ideal Surreal).
We thought it would be lovely to invite some of our favourite performers to record a cheeky live session recording. WE BLESS THIS MESS popped in to film an exclusive video, which will be hitting YouTube soon, a cheeky podcast and a brand new, limited to 50 copies (when its gone, its gone) cassette, which will feature the entire live session, plus an exclusive B side session or never before heard material. The cassette will be available on the night and via the Ideal Surreal/Off With Their Records website.
Supporting WE BLESS THIS MESS on Thursday are lofi songstress CHLO ATLANTA, the excellent DANDELION FLORENCE and Space is Big frontman MINTY TAYLOR and WE ARE JOY.
We return to Gringos on Friday 22nd October for a second WE BLESS THIS MESS launch celebration, with a full band performance of songs from Enlightened Fool, which is an album the group released in January 2021 but have been unable to celebrate in a live environment. Copies of this and additional WE BLESS THIS MESS merch will be available on the night.
Supporting are new Norwich punk band On The Huh, who will be making their Ideal Surreal debut and Sucking Grunts, who make a welcome return to the live scene, and Beanie in the Bath who make their Ideal Surreal debut.
Doors are from 19:30 and entry is £free(Thursday) and £5otd (Friday).
