History 📜
The World Day of Orthodox Youth was proposed by the XIV SYNDESMOS General Assembly in June 1992 and blessed by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, together with the Heads of other local Orthodox Churches, as a celebration strengthening unity, prayer, and fellowship among young Orthodox Christians worldwide. ✅
In recent years, nearly 200 Orthodox students from around the globe have visited Poland to share their faith, celebrate diverse cultures, make new friends, and pray together during WDOY with a record of almost 100 participants last year. Once again, The Fellowship of Orthodox Youth in Poland is proud to organize this event on an international scale, welcoming participants from multiple countries. 💖
For 2026, we are preparing program that includes cultural activities, sightseeing through the historic streets of Lublin, inspiring talks and interactive workshops. During the first days, our international group will have the chance to get to know one another better. Over the weekend, we will join the main national celebrations, attended each year by ~300-400 Orthodox young people from all across Poland. 🫂
Participants will also gather in prayer during the Vigil and Divine Liturgy as we celebrate our shared Orthodox identity. ☦️
