About this Event

HEADLIGHTS - The positive impact capsule by We Don't Need Roads

Every month, we ask those who make it happen to give us the heads up on what the future of business will be about, in the long term and the short term, and how we can take action about it.

Climate Change is more and more a reality in people's life, as well as a business reality. Fast and bold action is needed, but where can we start? how can we shift business without killing it, and create actual value?

How can we shift economic sectors towards positive impact in the next 8 to 10 years?

How can we concretely and successfully transform small & medium businesses, private equity and European corporate brands all together to achieve a consistent, ambitious, and fast action to tackle Climate Change?

We went to those who shape the future of legislation, business and society in Europe to understand better how it will work in the next years - in direct conversations with those who make it happen on the ground.

For this first edition, we will welcome Pascal Canfin, to help business leaders understand how the Green New Deal, a set of 50 laws that will aim at cutting 55% of green gas emissions in Europe, will affect businesses.

After an update on where the Green New Deal is at, we will share questions and answers.

Formerly the head of the French section of WWF, and Minister for Development under the Minister of Foreign Affairs in France, Pascal Canfin serves as chair of the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee in the EU Parliament. Following his initiative, the European Parliament declares in December 2019 a "climate state of emergency" - and Pascal Canfin has been the Senior Advisor on Climate at World Resources Institute (WRI), ranked the most influential think tank in the world on environmental issues, on the preparation of the International climate summit to be held in Paris in December 2015 (COP21). For this matter, he also co-chaired with Alain Grandjean the Commission for innovative financing for climate, mandated by the President of the French Republic.
