About this Event
Roll up your sleeves and join our Land Conservation Team for a hands-on volunteer event to remove invasive species and restore the natural balance of our campus. Invasive species harm wildlife because they crowd out native plants, which provide food and shelter. The Eastern Box Turtle, for example, fails to thrive in areas where Microstegium (an invasive grass) has taken over. By removing harmful species, you help native wildlife and habitats flourish!
At each W**d Wrangle, you’ll help fortify natural systems, learn how to identify invasive plants, and safely remove them using tools like W**d wrenches—all while making a real impact on the land we love. Come prepared for outdoor work—wear closed-toed shoes, long sleeves, pants, and a hat. Don’t forget water, sunscreen, and anything else you need to stay comfortable. We recommend bringing your own work gloves, although we’ll have extras on hand.
Important: All participants must sign our before registering. Adults must sign individually, and parents/legal guardians must sign for any participating minors.
Let’s wrangle some weeds and protect native wildlife, together!
