Ed Williams is a performer and composer based between France and Switzerland, working within the interstices between early music, noise improvisation, experimental composition and trans*feminist epistemologies.Violinist Anouck Genthon was born in France and lives in Geneva. Her musical creations pay singular attention to sound and listening. She explores the potential of her instrument while developing a personal language nourished by improvisation and writing. She has worked as a duo with Lionel Marchetti, David Meier, Ed Williams and Antoine Läng, and with the tangent+mek trio, the Quatuor LGBS, the Recueil des miracles, Le UN, Insub. and the Grand Chahut Collectif.
They work with an experimental approach to early instruments they call “decomposing”, combining 16th-century microtonal and improvisatory practices with contemporary performance technique, while developing research into queer phenomenology and trans*feminist notions of dis/orientation.
Theo May, Malmesbury's very own virtuoso violinist, composer, improviser will also be appearing.
