The Records Department presents WAX POETIC Join us for a poetry open mic night, hosted by the Atrocious Poets.
This event is free & open to everyone.
Things have been getting busier (which we love), so we’re putting a few guidelines in place to keep the night flowing smoothly:
Four-minute time limit. Share as many poems as you’d like, just keep it within four minutes.
Keep it about the poetry. This isn’t a space for selling. It’s fine to mention a book you’re reading from or were featured in—people can always connect with you after.
Limited sign-ups. We’ll be capping the number of readers. If you want to get on the list, arrive by 6:30 and find the person with the clipboard.
Random order. Reading order will be randomized. Group/partner pieces count as one slot, with four minutes total.
Respectful space. Hate speech is not welcome.
Our goal is to keep the vibe open, curious, and kind while giving everyone room to share their work. We can’t wait to hear what you bring to the mic!
