Standby guests will be admitted on a first come, first served basis depending upon on availability. Guests in the standby line are not guaranteed entry.
Experience Eastern State's historic cellblocks as the sun goes down with a special free evening of our new program Night Tours: Summer Twilight.
Admission includes history exhibits like Al Capone's Cell and Death Row; "The Voices of Eastern State" Audio Tour, narrated by actor Steve Buscemi; award-winning exhibits about prisons today and the root causes of mass incarceration; site-specific artist installations; and more!
During your visit, grab a drink and relax in The Fair Chance Beer Garden while you reflect on the penitentiary's history and the legacy of criminal justice reform through hands-on activities. Activities focus on art, writing, and music and prompt conversation on issues of justice today. As you exit, view a new, digital artist installation by Andrea Walls, co-commissioned by Mural Arts Philadelphia, and projected onto Eastern State’s façade.
Historic site programming, especially "The Voices of Eastern State" Audio Tour, is subject to availability. Capacity is limited. Not recommended for children under the age of seven.
