Wawa 50k !! This is a free event! Running and eating has been a perfect combination and what had me hooked from the beginning when I discovered ultras. Post Thanksgiving run for everyone to join in to get some miles in and explore 8 of Burlington County’s Wawas. Originally I attempted to create a wawa marathon 26.2 mile route but the route became a little long so the Wawa 50k was born. Rules are as follows at the start time 7 am at 7 we hop into the first Wawa purchase a food item and beverage consume it and head down to the next Wawa. Once there repeat , buy drink and food consume then continue. Vanessa and I did this route in May and didn’t carry any of our own supplies and relied on the Wawas for fueling and fluids. You can pick up water from Wawa from the fountain machine for free but that doesn’t count as a drink. This is an unsupported on your own adventure run but that doesn’t stop us from forming groups and support each other along the way. Furthermore it’s not a race just a fun run. You can go as much or as little as you want but if you want to be considered a finisher you need to complete the whole route at one time and prove you purchased the items by keeping the receipts. Keep the receipts!! Also if you plan on moving slower to have a light and reflective gear for safety and traveling in the dark. That being said the roads are not closed so you need to keep yourself safe because you are on your own. No course marshals no police.
