About this Event
An evening with Dentsu Lab
Dentsu Lab is the creative R&D lab of Dentsu, dedicated to exploring the future of human potential. By combining technology, design, and creativity, the Lab imagines new possibilities for expression, connection, and culture, starting from bold, human questions.
What if technology could enable new forms of movement and self-expression? What if a future exists where someone who could never dance again… can?
This evening is about that future-facing mindset and what it takes to turn imagination into reality.
We’ll share the story behind Waves of Will, a complex and layered project that brought together Japanese and Dutch teams, an American dancer living with ALS, experimental technology, and many moments of trial, error, and learning. From cultural differences and creative ambition to technical challenges and unexpected bloopers, the project ultimately culminated in a live dance performance in the Netherlands.
But Waves of Will is more than a performance. It represents a way of thinking: about collaboration across cultures, about designing with empathy, and about how technology can support human dignity and creativity.
Waves of Will is one example of the signature blend of creativity, technology, and humanity that Dentsu Lab brings to the world. During the evening you’ll have the chance to explore multiple prototypes, like sound-making plants and a talking Maneki Neko cat…
And just to be clear: this is not a sales talk about Dentsu Lab 😉
