Local playwright Kevin Kostic spins this tale of a Baltimore private school with a hidden past that is on the brink of exposure.Synopsis: Maureen's sister is dead. She can't stop thinking about her. This is understandable but not altogether convenient--especially not when you're applying for the prestigious Head of School position at the Waverly Hall Academy High School for Girls.
If Maureen can get the job, it should give her everything she lacks: money, respect, and a new start for her daughter who hates her life. It won't be easy, though. Maureen is up against an intimidating candidate in Angela. Plus, Mrs. Drask, the powerful chair of the school's board of directors, seems to be hiding something about the school.
How far is Maureen willing to go to be the leader of a flawed institution? How far will she bend her values before they break?
Join our Dialogue for Change event which explores race relations, long-held traditions, and the power of family legacy for a one-night-only reading of this powerful play.
The evening will include refreshments and a talk back with the playwright.
