We’re holding a poster sale! We have deaccessioned duplicate copies of posters and other archival materials already in the museum’s collections and several posters unrelated to local history. All proceeds from sales will go toward the Watkins Acquisitions and Conservation Fund. The fund will be used to purchase materials for the Watkins collections or to conserve and restore collections materials as needed.
Sale items include:
-Historic American Building Surveys of the Watkins, assorted elevations
-War bond posters
-Individual 1873 Douglas County Atlas pages
-Lawrence, Kansas Illustrated Posters, assorted selection
-Historic Kansas newspapers
-Assorted maps of Douglas County
-Alvin Howell drawings of Lawrence
-Assorted Lawrence and KU posters
-Civil War Chronicle Newspaper 1861-1864
Watkins Museum members are invited to a soft opening of the Poster Sale from 9-10 AM.
