Watercolour Workshop
This full day workshop is for beginners and those who have some experience in watercolours.
You will learn various techniques including
- Wet on wet technique
- Wet on dry technique
- Dry brush technique
- How to create the effect of water and sand
- How to create light and shadows resulting in a vibrant artwork
You’ll experiment and learn these techniques in the morning session, ready to paint your masterpiece in the afternoon.
Please bring your own materials. ( If required attendees can purchase the paint to be used on the day (squeezed out of communal tubes and paper for $10 extra per attendee on the day.)
Materials List
You will need the three primary colours and one earth colour.
Please choose at least one colour from each line of suggested colours.
Watercolour paint in a tube -Red - cadmium/spectrum red/alizarinBlue -
Ultramarine/cobalt and cerulean
Yellow - Cadmium/Aso/Hansa/aurolean
Earth colours - yellow ochre/Australian red gold/burnt sienna
Paper - You will need at least 2 - 4 pieces of watercolour paper. Size approximately 36cm x 28cm each.
One full sheet of Arches/Canson/Fabriano/Waterford cut into four pieces is approximately 36 x 28 cm each
Or, a watercolour pad measuring a similar size.
Brushes -One soft brush which comes to a point when wet. Size 12 or 14 or larger.
One hake natural hair flat brush or similar
Tub or bowl for water
Palette with separate wells for mixing paint
Paper towel.
Pencil & eraser
